A mysterious Empire on the far east of the Xxoraxan Wasteland. Shrouded in mists, known to be the home of the undead. The denizens of Ineolyn tell stories of the Empire to frighten their children at night, for those who venture through the Veldrexshus Pass never return.
The truth of the Empire is far from the horror stories told, but still more than most mortals can bear. The Empire lives under the shroud of an eternal mist to protect the undead who cannot survive the burning sun. A place where an Immortal Emporer rules and the secretive Goddess Nexus protects her worshippers from incursions by agents of the Divine.
Mortals and the Undead live mostly in peace in the Kingdom. With Vampires seeking voluntary donations of blood, or forced donation from those who commit grevious crimes. Ancient beings rule under
The modern Empire was founded at the end of war between the Gods. Nexus, Goddess of the void granted her followers immortality. To protect them, she created a barrier in the form of a mist that protected them from incursions by the Gods and the sun. Whatever the nature of the ancient civilization is not well known, as outsiders are kept away by the eternal night and stories of death and doom should they cross into the Empire. So, the Empire become a land where the Dead could share land with the living.
No longer were these Undead monsters that lurked in the night, they were simply people. So the kingdom has survived and prospered.
Recently, the Kingdom was faced with a dire plague that began to drain the life force of any who were undead or revived from death. The Empire sent emissaries to far off kingdoms and cities to investigate the source, only to discover the affliction was spreading to all those who had been touched by death. Some mortals in the kingdom, seeing the ancient immortals that held them down weakened began to form a rebillion in the hopes of reforging a Empire of the living. The rebillions eventually grew so bold as to destroy the daughter of the Blackshire family. As the affliction grew stronger, it seemed that all hope was lost for the immortal rulers of the Empire. Until, suddenly with no explantion the effects of the drain stopped. Not understanding why, the balance of power began to shift again with the long living rulers of the land looking to re-assert their control. The Blackshires, enraged by their loss south retribution against the revolutionaries that took their daughter.
One day, The Veiled Vanguard entered the city of Osseous. At first wary, as the band of adventurers had rumors brewing around the recent events that led to the fall of Qyradell and their association with the Demon Prince Contras. It was soon learned, the Vanguard had actualily thwarted the threat by destroying an ancient device that was consuming the souls of the dead, undead and reborn. Hailed as heroes of the land, they were gifted the Warden's Spire.
The city of Osseous, located to the far east of the Empire. The Blackshires live as immortal rulers of their city, answering only to the Emperor. The river styxian powers caustic greeen liquid through the center of the city. Home to the Chantry of the Everlight, where Nexus is worshipped.
The glorious city of Vastorum, run by Lady Darthbyne. The city is dvided into ruling houses, each whom create works of fashion to impress their lady.
An ancient Sanotorium, turned to a prison during the founding of the Empire. It has long collapsed to ruin, until it was gifted to The Veiled Vanguard for their service to the Empire. It is now becoming their Bastion in this dangerous land.
A city at the Western Border of the Empire, closest to the Veldrexshus pass.
A city seperated from the Empire by the River Gloria, on the south eastern tip the continent.
A city south of the Shifting Bogs, the southern most point of the Empire.
A city that is the seat of the Emperor of the Sanguisian Empire. Rumours are circulating that the Emperor is preparing to perform a dire ritual.
A cursed place, where the voices of the dead hound those who venture of the path luring them to their doom. Any who are unprepared for this journey, are likely to be lost forever.
A caustic body of water, that disolves all but the strongest of materials. Any who venture into the sickly green "waters" will find themselves dissolving.
A long dead, calcified forest in the center of the Empire. Nothing is believe to live here, with only danger lurking for those who wander. There are rumors that somewhere in its depths, practitioners of the Druidic arts wander.
To the North of the Empire is the desolate frozen waste known as the Godscar. Believed to be the location where the gods freely warred, leaving the area unstable and lethal for even the most seasoned of adventurers.
