Valérie was a founding member of the Veiled Vanguard. A College of Whispers Bard, who first appeared as a beautiful Elven woman from the Grand City of Illneryra. In secret, she was a Changeling working on mysterious orders. She was a woman of great personal conflict, stuck between what she was supposed to do and her desire to become the role of Valérie in truth. She fell for a member of the party, and chose to preserve Emelyne's life at the cost of her own. Very few know the truth of what she was doing, the true nature of the elegant Bard.
Valérie appeared to be outgoing and vivacious. She enjoyed playing the role she was given, and spared no thought at a witty comment or a bad joke. She seemed to want to be the center of attention, distracting with her comments, her dancing and her music.
The truth was always something different, the role she was playing a deception. She was at her core, calculating and had the potential to be ruthless. A part of her core was a programmed subservience to the goals of her handlers, but it was always in conflict with the young girl who loved the act.
